Questions of Health

Share

It should be possible to correct the problems at Martin Luther King Jr./Drew Medical Center (Jan. 30). But it will take money. We need to make some tough decisions. Which immunization programs should we cancel? Which community health centers should we close? Should we cut off funding for AIDS, tuberculosis or drug treatment programs? Or should we make the really tough decision that this country really does need some sort of national health insurance plan, like every other industrial nation? Then comes the really tough decision: Can we afford to give up a few tax breaks or maybe not drive Hummers?
