3 More Bird Flu Deaths Are Reported

Asia’s toll from bird influenza hit 16 with the deaths of 16- and 17-year-old girls in Vietnam and confirmation that a Thai boy, 6, died of the disease, officials said.
Eleven of the deaths have been in Vietnam and five in Thailand. Eight other territories and countries, including China, have reported outbreaks among fowl. Officials at a U.N. conference in Rome are to announce recommendations today to help control the disease.
