Man, 87, Gets 50 Years for Murdering His Wife
From Times Staff and Wire Reports
An 87-year-old man was sentenced Friday to 50 years to life in prison for fatally shooting his wife.
Ralph William Siegel was convicted of first-degree murder in the death of Georgianna Siegel, 81, during an argument at their home in April.
Siegel was shot by police officers after he pointed his gun at them.
“Based upon what this defendant did, he justified being sentenced to the fullest extent of the law,” according to Bobby Grace, deputy district attorney.
