The city of Richmond, which has been grappling with financial problems, has hired a veteran public relations consultant to communicate with the news media.
City Manager Jay Corey contracted with Darolyn Davis, whose San Francisco firm worked for the Legislature for 10 years, eight of them with then-Assembly Speaker Willie Brown.
