196 People Are Killed in Tribal Fighting

Tribal fighting sparked by a raid on a gold mine in southwestern Ethiopia has killed 196 people and forced 10,000 to flee their homes, the government said.
The fighting began Jan. 30 when Anuak tribe members attacked a gold mine where Ethiopians from other parts of the country were working, the Ministry of Federal Affairs said. The fighting spread to nearby Dimma the next day, it said.
