* Cingular Wireless’ $1.4-billion agreement to buy airwave licenses from NextWave Telecom Inc. was approved by the Federal Communications Commission.
* Yum Brands Inc. said sales at KFC in China fell 20% in the last week because of consumer concern about the avian flu outbreak. Sales also have dropped “modestly” to as much as 20% in Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand and Indonesia, the company said.
* Intelsat Ltd. won clearance from the Federal Communications Commission to buy six telecommunications satellites from Loral Space & Communications Ltd. The FCC’s approval of license transfers to Intelsat is the last regulatory hurdle for the $1.1-billion satellite sale.
