Joyce’s grandson snubs ReJoyce

A James Joyce festival without Joyce?

That’s how the annual ReJoyce Dublin event is shaping up this year. Organizers have been told by the novelist’s grandson, Stephen Joyce, that he will sue for breach of copyright if any public readings of his grandfather’s works take place during the three-month festival, the Scotsman newspaper reports.

It said a production of “Exiles” by Ireland’s National Theatre had been canceled and that the government would comply with Joyce’s request. Joyce has refused to comment on his reasons, the paper said.
