Lawmaker Accused of Ethics Violations Resigns
From Times Wire Reports
A 23-year-old lawmaker charged with writing bad checks and using his status to get a reserved parking place resigned rather than face expulsion from the New Hampshire Statehouse.
“I’m very sad to leave the House. I really feel that I belong there,” said Rep. John Kerns, who said he had a medical condition that caused his behavior.
The Ethics Committee had voted unanimously to recommend that the House expel him. A House vote was planned for March.
