The U.S. is suspending imports of French cold cuts and foie gras because of food safety concerns, France’s Agriculture Ministry said.

American veterinary experts inspected sites in France and found they did not conform with U.S. food safety requirements, the ministry said. It did not give further details.

“France shares neither the observations of the American authorities nor the conclusions they felt should be taken,” the statement said.
