From Times Wire Reports

India has proposed talks with Pakistan to ease restrictions on diplomats and start bus services on new routes between the rival nations, including a key highway that runs through the divided Kashmir region, the Indian Foreign Ministry said.

The new peace measures are in line with a thaw in tensions between the nuclear-armed neighbors, whose millions of citizens share close family and cultural links but can rarely meet because of the visa restrictions.

The announcement comes as the nations’ leaders are set to meet this week.
