I noticed a parallel between Samantha Bonar (“Grace Kelly? Might as Well Have Said Gene Kelly,” Jan. 1) and a ballet dancer. In that Calendar Weekend, there was the article about ballet dancers, “A Picture of Passion.” The article mentioned the film “The Red Shoes,” in which a dancer regards ballet as her “religion,” as something she “must” do. Not able to choose between love and dance, she throws herself in front of a train.

Is it possible that Bonar is sabotaging her love life so she will not have to give up her column? Is “Single in the City” her religion?

I’m just having fun, but I like the comparison.
