Left-Foot Braking

Re “Defense Blames Crash on Illness,” Jan. 7: Problem: Panicked drivers often hit the accelerator when they mean to brake. Solution: Use the left foot to brake. It’s almost impossible to hit the gas with the left foot. Auto manufacturers should put the brake pedal farther to the left so that the use of the left foot to operate it is intuitive.
