Diana Taurasi made a career-high seven three-point baskets and scored 27 points to lead No. 5-ranked Connecticut to a 72-47 victory over Rutgers on Monday at Hartford, Conn.

The senior, fifth on the all-time scoring list at Connecticut with 1,876 points, had made only 15 of her previous 51 shots before the game but found her touch quickly. She made her first five shots, and the Huskies, who improved to 13-2 overall and 4-1 in the Big East Conference, cruised against the Scarlet Knights (9-7, 2-3), who had only eight players.

“I was feeling good today,” Taurasi said. “We were getting a couple of bounces defensively and offensively, and when you shoot and the shot goes in like that, it gives you confidence.”
