From Times Wire Reports

Ugandan rebels burned and looted six villages in remote southern Sudan last month, killing at least 100 people and forcing 15,000 to flee, a religious leader and a Sudanese faction said.

Rebels of the Lord’s Resistance Army attacked June 25-27 near the town of Madgwi, about 30 miles north of the Ugandan border, said the Rev. Paul Yugusuk, an Anglican church leader.

The Equatorial Defense Force, a Sudanese faction, said at least 122 people had been killed and thousands had fled the violence.
