Bryant Court Case Stirs More Emotions

Share

Since when does the so-called press freedom rights give you and the other media organizations involved in the court challenge the “right” to make a buck by a tabloid exposure of a woman’s past sexual experience, in violation of the rape shield law that states have allowed victims, yes, even alleged victims, in a rape case, no matter who or how “celebrity” the perpetrator.

Women have for decades avoided prosecuting their attackers because of the conduct of both the courts and the press. Finally, women have some sense of keeping their privacy and dignity intact while moving forward in these horrible cases. You and the other media outlets only want to take women back in time when injuries, shame and a lifetime of mental suffering were the norm for a woman because of fear of putting herself out on a limb and exposing her life (and any hope of recovering her sense of worth) were shattered by the indifference of the courts and the making of tabloid fodder for the press. Shame on you.
