Inquiries Sought in Killings of Women

A federal prosecutor called for criminal investigations of 81 officials, including prosecutors and detectives, for their handling of the killings of hundreds of women in the last decade.
Maria Lopez said she found evidence that local and state authorities were negligent and unresponsive, losing evidence and failing to protect crime scenes in their investigations of the killings in Mexico’s northern border city of Ciudad Juarez.
