Vehicles Plunge Into River After Bridge Fails

The center of a highway bridge in northeastern China collapsed and vehicles passing over it plummeted into the Liao River, the official New China News Agency said.
There was no immediate word on the number of vehicles that fell or any casualties when the Tianzhuangtai Bridge broke apart.
The bridge connects the cities of Panjin and Yingkou in an industrial region about 300 miles northeast of Beijing.
