From Times Wire Reports

Police fired tear gas to disperse protesters in the Nigerian capital, Abuja, on the second day of a general strike called to force down fuel prices, witnesses said.

A witness said security forces clashed with hundreds of motorcyclists led by union leaders.

A federal court has ordered gasoline sellers to drop their prices, but union leaders say some have not complied. The union leaders say price increases at the pump have pushed inflation above 20%.
