U.S. Role in Coup Against Haiti’s Aristide
Listening to “Democracy Now” on Monday morning (on radio station KPFK), I heard Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Los Angeles) indicate that former Haitian President Jean-Bertrand Aristide said he had been kidnapped at gunpoint by U.S. military people. He, his security people and his wife were kidnapped to Africa.
It seems that the U.S. not only actively encouraged this coup in Haiti but was leading it. Not surprising to me -- since this administration will break any and all laws to do what it wants.
