Soldier, Turkish Civilian Killed Along Highway

Suspected Taliban gunmen killed a Turkish engineer and an Afghan soldier after stopping their car along a main road linking the capital with the turbulent south, a local army commander and a Turkish diplomat said.
Another Turkish engineer and the car’s driver were abducted, said Naimatullah Khan, army commander for Zabol province. The attack occurred 170 miles southwest of Kabul along the highway to Kandahar.
