Dismissal of Milosevic Charges Sought
The U.N. war crimes tribunal at The Hague received a motion to dismiss genocide charges against former Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic for lack of evidence. It was not clear when the tribunal would rule.
The motion came in a 95-page brief by three attorneys appointed to help protect Milosevic’s interests. The motion also sought immediate acquittal on other charges related to the Balkan wars in the 1990s.
The attorneys argued there was no evidence that Milosevic specifically intended to exterminate Muslims and Croats.
