Government Declares Victory Over Bird Flu

China declared victory in its fight against bird flu, saying it had “stamped out” all known cases in its territory. But the government warned against relaxing vigilance, saying that when warm weather arrives, it could bring new cases.
Authorities have been ordered to tighten prevention measures, said Jia Youling, an Agriculture Ministry spokesman. He said no new cases had been reported for 29 days.
