Former Auto Dealer Sentenced in Fraud Case

The owner of two Coachella Valley auto dealerships was sentenced Tuesday to seven years in prison and ordered to pay $3.3 million in restitution to local banks he defrauded as part of a check-kiting scheme.

Norman David Stark of Bermuda Dunes was sentenced on charges of conspiracy and grand theft for his actions as owner of the now-closed Mazda/Kia Superstore in La Quinta and Kia Superstore in Cathedral City.
