Florida charges against R. Kelly are dropped
Prosecutors in Bartow, Fla., dropped all child pornography charges against R. Kelly after a judge ruled that photos allegedly showing the singer having sex with an underage girl were illegally seized.
The decision, announced Wednesday, doesn’t mean that Kelly is out of trouble. The R&B; singer still faces 14 counts of child pornography in his home state of Illinois, stemming from a videotape allegedly showing him having sex with an underage girl.
“My faith in our system of justice has never wavered, and with this victory behind me, I look forward to clearing my name in Illinois,” Kelly said.
