Pilot’s Body Is Found in Fighter Plane Wreckage
From Times Wire Reports
Searchers found the wreckage of a Soviet-era MiG-17 fighter plane that crashed while en route to an air show two days earlier.
The body of pilot George Cambron, 50, of Louisville, Ky., was found in the wreckage about 10 miles northwest of Truth or Consequences. The privately owned plane had taken off Thursday from Roswell on its way to a Phoenix-area air show.
First manufactured in Russia in the 1950s, the MiG-17 was used in the Korean and Vietnam Wars.
