Chirac Will Announce Revamped Government

French President Jacques Chirac decided to revamp his government but kept Prime Minister Jean-Pierre Raffarin, despite a ruling party defeat in regional elections. The makeup of the new government is to be announced today.
Chirac told Raffarin to assemble a team that could make unpopular social and economic reforms more palatable.
