Ticket-Fixing Judge Is Found Guilty as Charged

A jury on Friday convicted a Santa Clara County Superior Court judge of conspiracy and obstruction of justice for fixing 29 traffic tickets and giving judicial breaks to professional athletes and acquaintances.

Judge William Danser, 50, faces up to three years in prison. A sentencing date will be set May 24.

Danser was indicted for improperly dismissing traffic tickets for more than a dozen people, including the team president and a goalie on the San Jose Sharks hockey team, a forward with the San Jose Earthquakes soccer team, one of his children’s teachers and a staffer’s father.
