From Times Wire Reports

A jail did not violate an inmate’s civil rights by preventing her from having an abortion because the procedure was not medically necessary, a federal court has ruled.

The 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled in favor of the prison’s policy of requiring a court order for elective procedures.

The woman placed the baby up for adoption.
