Repaired Pipeline Restarted After Diesel Spill
Kinder Morgan Energy Partners, the largest U.S. publicly traded pipeline partnership by market value, said Sunday that it had restarted a pipeline in Northern California that caused a diesel-fuel spill last week.
Repairs on the pipeline were completed over the weekend, and it was tested Sunday morning before being placed back into service, Houston-based Kinder Morgan said in a statement.
Spokesman Larry Pierce didn’t immediately return a call to his office Sunday evening.
Kinder Morgan said Thursday that less than 1,500 barrels of diesel spilled into the Suisun Marsh north of Concord from the underground pipeline that runs from Concord to Sacramento. The company will work with government agencies to clean up the spill, it said in Sunday’s statement.
Kinder Morgan shares fell 62 cents to $41.03 on Friday on the New York Stock Exchange.
