Thanks to a series of longshot winners Sunday, the week at Hollywood Park begins with a hefty pick six carry-over of $143,950.

The smallest field in the sequence is seven horses in the seventh, a $54,000 allowance for older fillies and mares at six furlongs.

One of the prime contenders in the race is Pocketfullofpesos.

Trained by Mike Mitchell, who is atop the standings at Hollywood Park, the 4-year-old In Excess filly will be making her first start since finishing fifth in the Torrey Pines on Sept. 7 at Del Mar.

However, the California-bred, who was claimed by Mitchell for $40,000 on Nov. 9, 2002, is proved after a layoff.

She won at 6-1 odds over this track after having been away for five months last year.

Race of the day: Lady Siphonica, a full sister to former Hollywood Futurity winner Siphonic, will make her debut for owner David Lanzman and trainer Doug O’Neill in the eighth at Hollywood Park, a $43,000 maiden race for 2-year-old fillies at 4 1/2 furlongs. Tyler Baze will ride Lady Siphonica, who was purchased for $190,000 earlier this year.

One for the road: Ecclesiastic looked good breaking his maiden at Keeneland last month and can come right back for new trainer Kiaran McLaughlin in the seventh at Belmont Park. Others in the field for the $46,000 1 1/8-mile race are Forest Hunter, Elyon, Leading The Parade, Go Now and Opera Box.

Exotically speaking: A trifecta in the fourth keying Free’s Lil Lass on top with Jerri Lynn, Imagoldseeker and Old Chinese Copy in the two hole and all in the third spot.

Winners: Previous day/meet total: 1/33. Money: Previous day/meet total: $6.40/$182.40. Total money bet: $260.
