Snappy snake gobbles cords

If you’ve ever tripped -- physically or mentally -- over the wires tangled near your home workstation, here’s one solution: the WM16 Snake Wire Manager ($32), a Lego-like plastic conduit composed of 17 four-channel blocks that easily snap over pesky cords.

Like a mouse swallowed by a python, the wires disappear into the belly of this organizer, which bends and twists to fit awkward spaces. It’s held in place by a weighted steel base plate on the floor and a mounting top plate that can be fitted to the side of a desk, table or cabinet.

The 32-inch snake can also be extended with add-on pieces, and it comes in snappy translucent white, yellow, orange and green as well as black and silver.

The WM16 is available from Doug Mockett & Co., which has catered to the organizationally obsessed since 1983 with items from unobtrusive door hooks to space-saving storage cabinets.
