From Times Wire Reports

Cuban officials have asked managers of dollar-only stores to mark up prices of their products -- including staples such as cooking oil, pasta and cheese -- 10% to 30%, according to a document obtained by Associated Press.

The communist government abruptly closed the stores last week, blaming new U.S. measures aimed at squeezing the island’s economy.

Officials have said the stores will reopen, with items selling at higher prices, but have not given a date. Gasoline prices will also rise, the officials have said.
