Roger Clemens, attempting to improve his record to 8-0, was hit hard for the first time this season Saturday night at Cincinnati. He gave up six runs in five innings as the Reds defeated the Houston Astros, 8-7.

A comeback by the Astros left Clemens with no decision in his worst National League outing.

Sean Casey and Ken Griffey Jr. hit run-scoring doubles in the eighth off Brad Lidge (0-1) for the Reds’ seventh victory in eight games, pushing them a season-high six games over .500.

The Reds also moved into a three-way tie for the Central Division lead with the Astros and Chicago Cubs.

Florida 11, Arizona 2 -- Luis Castillo shelved switch-hitting and showed some rare power. Batting right-handed against right-hander Steve Sparks, Castillo hit the first grand slam of his career to cap an eight-run third inning at Miami.

San Diego 9, Philadelphia 6 -- Brian Giles homered for the third straight game and his aggressive slide in the sixth inning forced a two-run error, helping the Padres at Philadelphia. Justin Germano went five innings for the win in his first major league appearance.

San Francisco 7, Montreal 2 -- Barry Bonds drove in the go-ahead run with the bases loaded forceout in the 11th inning, and A.J. Pierzynski followed with a grand slam to lead the Giants in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Pierzynski finished with six RBIs.

New York 5, Colorado 4 -- Ty Wigginton hit a go-ahead, two-run homer in the bottom of the eighth inning. The Mets scored three runs in the first inning, highlighted by Kaz Matsui’s fourth leadoff homer of the season, but fell behind, 4-3.

Pittsburgh, 3, Milwaukee 1 -- Josh Fogg (2-4) retired 13 of 14 batters before being lifted after yielding consecutive singles to start the seventh inning at Pittsburgh. John Grabow relieved and got pinch-hitter Brady Clark to ground into a double play and Chad Moeller to fly out to right.
