From Times Wire Reports

North and South Korea opened high-level military talks aimed at reducing tension.

Generals from the two sides met at the North’s east coast Diamond Mountain resort, just north of the heavily fortified demilitarized zone that has separated the rivals since the end of the 1950-53 Korean War, a South Korean Defense Ministry spokeswoman said in Seoul.

Officials planned to discuss ways to avoid naval skirmishes along the west coast’s poorly marked maritime border during the May-June crabbing season.
