State Judge Arrested on Suspicion of DUI

A well-known judge was arrested after he tried to avoid a police checkpoint while driving intoxicated, possibly with cocaine, police said.
W. John Brennan, 57, chief judge of state district court in Albuquerque, appeared to be “extremely intoxicated” when he was pulled over just after midnight Friday, police spokeswoman Trish Ahrensfield said.
The judge said in a statement he would take full responsibility for his actions.
