Bone-Density Paper Published From Space

Astronauts at the International Space Station have published the first medical research paper from space, a report published online in the journal Radiology.
The paper demonstrated that astronauts could successfully use ultrasonic imaging to measure bone density. NASA hopes to use the technique to monitor the effects of microgravity on bone mass and strength, both of which have been found to decline over time.
