A 22-year-old woman was sentenced Monday to 10 years and 11 months in federal prison for attempting to murder her ex-husband, a Marine Corps sergeant. Astrid K. Tepatti had pleaded guilty to shooting at Sgt. Stephen Tepatti while he was sleeping on a sofa.

Tepatti’s lover, Ebony Wood, 21, has also pleaded guilty in the case. She will be sentenced Dec. 17.

When arrested, Tepatti and Wood allegedly had a home-brewed container of poison to be used in a second murder attempt. Tepatti’s husband was not injured in the shooting.
