Channeling the news

Re David Shaw’s “Would a Left-Leaning Cable Network Make Things Right?” [Nov. 14]: I don’t think “liberal” is a dirty word. Yet I have had my views and ideology attacked by the alleged mainstream media for being a liberal. I am called out of touch with mainstream America, elitist and amoral. I don’t believe this about myself, and I am tired of being told I’m a bad person by the so-called nonpartisan media.

I would support a left-leaning news channel. There are 48% of us (at least) who disagree with the current administration and with the newspeak reported on Fox News and on the commentary-style shows on all the other news networks.

All news is slanted slightly. The news channels pick what they will report, and in that editorial process slant their coverage. To think otherwise is naive. I’d prefer my news to be slanted left rather than right. I’m very tired of thinking the whole country is against me.
