Rather biased?

Share

Re David Shaw’s “Rather Should Have Known, and Done, Better” [Sept. 26]: Dan “Kinko” Rather did not make a mistake. He maliciously produced a false testimony about the president from a forgery copied at Kinko’s, the source of his facts. He is biased, dishonest and a coward. He should not be fired. He should be in jail.

Mr. SHAW takes Dan Rather appropriately to task for his mistake in vetting resources [“Rather Should Have Known, and Done, Better,” Sept. 26]. Mr. Rather has accepted responsibility, has apologized, and no one was injured. Mr. Bush, who was “wronged” by Mr. Rather, refuses to take responsibility for manufacturing information about “weapons of mass destruction,” has not apologized, and more than 1,000 young men have been killed, with more deaths nearly every day. Perhaps Mr. Rather could retain his position, and Mr. Bush could just go home like he did during the Vietnam War.
