Quick-care clinics are forgetting something: the doctor

Share

Re “There’s Healing in Store,” Sept. 20: As a health practitioner, I try to be optimistic about the future of healthcare in this country even though every day we seem to reach a new low. But this story, about nurse practitioners and physician assistants in stand-alone operations without physicians, is beyond comprehension.

A nurse is a nurse, a doctor is a doctor, a surgeon is a surgeon and a pharmacist is a pharmacist -- or am I thinking only of Third World countries?
