Stop Talking Already

Re “New Guidelines Will Address Homelessness,” Sept. 24: A Los Angeles County task force is going to take only 10 years to move the homeless off our streets! And our officials have been working on the plan for more than a year. They’ll probably spend another year or so identifying goals and holding more meetings. They have been working on this for a year and haven’t identified goals yet! (How about a goal to help get the homeless off the streets?)

Will our officials ever stop the nonsense of eternal waste and ongoing meetings and start to really get things done in an effective, timely manner? Not in the next 10 years, if this is any indication. Stay tuned, they are going to unveil the “final plan” in December. (Of what year?)
