Unpaid Soldiers Kill Military Chief, Aide

Soldiers recently back from a U.N. peacekeeping mission and angry over unpaid wages killed armed forces Chief of Staff Gen. Verissimo Correia Seabra and army spokesman Lt. Col. Domingos Barros, officials in the impoverished West African nation said.
Most troops returned to their barracks after nightfall, and the country was reported mostly calm. Talks among the renegades and the government were continuing, media reported.
