LOS ANGELES

A City Council committee heard two hours of testimony Monday about filming on Los Angeles city streets.

Some residents complained that film crews overwhelm their neighborhoods, closing streets, making noise at night and failing to provide enough notice.

Representatives of the Entertainment Industry Development Corp., which handles film permits for Los Angeles County, urged the city to sign an amended contract with the agency, saying that it could improve matters.
