Thousands Lose Power for Several Hours

More than 6,000 homes in the city’s northern neighborhoods lost power Tuesday evening when power cables failed, said a spokesman for Southern California Edison.
The outage occurred just after 6 p.m. in two neighborhoods north of Arizona Avenue. Power was restored by 9 p.m. The cause of the outage was being investigated, said Paul Klein.
