Winning Muslim Minds

Re “Jihadists Failing to Win Muslim Minds,” Commentary, Sept. 8: I suppose it is heartening for the “forces of democracy” to know that the “jihadists” are also “failing to win Muslim minds,” but the fact being so carefully avoided is that force and violence don’t ever win anyone’s heart or mind. On the contrary. It would seem increasingly obvious that killing people is not an effective way of making points for one’s cause in any case, and that more humane ways must be found by all sides. How much longer will it take to get this point across?

How many more people will have to die?
