From Times Wire Reports

The U.S. government will receive $11.3 million from several makers of silicone breast implants as medical reimbursement for women injured by these products, an advocacy group said in Birmingham.

The group, the anti-implant Command Trust Network, said the payment would settle a lawsuit filed by the Justice Department four years ago. The department confirmed the settlement.

Bristol-Myers Squibb Co., Baxter International Inc.’s healthcare unit, 3M Co., Dow Chemical Co.’s Union Carbide Corp. unit and others are participating in the settlement, according to Command Trust.
