Naval Academy Student Dies After Apparent Fall
A student at the U.S. Naval Academy was found dead outside a campus dormitory, apparently as the result of a fall, authorities said.
Midshipman 2nd Class Jay Michael Dixon, 21, of Destrehan, La., was discovered Saturday and declared dead.
The Naval Criminal Investigative Service was investigating. The academy said no further information was available, including where Dixon may have fallen from.
In February, a judge dismissed a wrongful-death lawsuit against the Navy filed by the family of a student who had fallen from his dorm window in 2002.
