Mexico’s Economy Expands 4% in Quarter
From Reuters
Mexico’s economy picked up speed in the second quarter and grew about 4% over the same period last year, helped by strong consumer spending and export growth.
The economy grew at a rate of 2.4% in the first three months of the year versus the year-earlier period.
Although the pace accelerated in the second quarter, the central bank last week lowered its forecast for 2005 growth to 3.25% to 3.75%.
