RealNetworks Swings to Profit of $4.71 Million
RealNetworks Inc., which sells songs and music-playing software on the Internet, posted a second-quarter profit of $4.71 million after a year-earlier loss as revenue rose.
Net income was 3 cents a share, contrasted with a net loss of $4.62 million, or 3 cents a share, a year earlier, the company said. That topped the average estimate of break-even per share from analysts surveyed by Thomson Financial. Sales rose 26% to $82.7 million.
The company’s shares, up 6 cents to $5.05 in regular trading, jumped to $5.69 after hours, after the report.
