From Times Wire Reports

Pakistan told 105,000 Afghan refugees sheltering in its lawless tribal areas near Afghanistan that it would shut their camps because the region had become too dangerous.

Hundreds of people have died in clashes between security forces and Al Qaeda-linked militants in the Waziristan tribal region in the last two years.

The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees said Pakistani officials had told refugees in two of the seven border regions, Bajaur and Kurram, that the camps would be closed by Aug. 31.
